Helping Out -- Volunteer action at the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show
What a fun morning. As we have done in the past few years, we volunteer at the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show [ http://sistersoutdoorquiltshow.org/ ] to hang and take down the display quilts along select retail stores on Cascade Avenue. It's the least we can do to help out such a great organization that does so much for the local Sisters Oregon community and for the larger international quilting community.
After a visit to one of our favorite Sisters Restaurant's, The Depot Cafe, we decided to surprised Quilt Show Poster Artist, Kathy Deggendorfer [ http://www.kathydeggendorfer.com ], while she was signing 2016 Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show posters! Kathy is such a great artist, supporter of the community and the quilt show.
Our last stop was the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce to visit the last day of the Wish Upon A Card Project. Myrna Dow of High Desert Frameworks is honored to be the official framer for the Wish Project and has donated 70 frames this year. In it's tenth year, the Wish Project has raised funds for Wendy's Wish and The Sisters Quilt Show. This year the Wish Project is helping fund an arts scholarship and the Quilt Show.
